Toggling scripts on and off

Post by Christolos »

I posted this issue already in the main forum but should probably have posted it here instead, so here it is again:

The manual states that Scripts can be toggled on or off during a game against the computer if the allow changes option is selected.

The exact wording is: "These selections may not be changed during a game against the computer unless the Allow Changes option is selected."

I have also seen references in this forum to turning off certain victory condition scripts to prolong the game beyond 1947.

I don't see an option to Allow Changes in any of the settings options so how have people been able to do this?

Am I missing something or has the feature to allow changes not been implemented yet?

I tried turning off a script (US transfer to Atlantic of their Pacific fleet) by going back to the previous turn (where I found the script and turned it off) but the problem is that the event still happened when I advanced to the next turn, i.e., the turn in which it previously happened!

This is when I went to the manual and noticed the mention that the mysterious "Allow Changes" option needs to be enabled to toggle scripts on and off during a game against the computer.

So now I am completely puzzled [&:][:(]

Thanks,

C
