Movement Points

Germany At War: Operation Barbarossa 1941 is an elegant turn-based design, inspired by classics such as Panzer General, but with more of a historical focus. You command the German forces through a branching historical campaign covering the entire 1941 campaign as well as part of the 1942 campaign. Dozens of scenarios stretch from the Soviet border all the way to Archangel and towards Astrakhan, the original military goals of Operation Barbarossa. Step into a wargame where your performance will rewrite history, through an addictive combination of compelling gameplay, realistic events and challenging battles.

Movement Points

Heavy tanks :
I think that the heavy tanks have too many Movement Points by reports in the other tanks.

In Germany at war :
- Panzer 38(t) -> 15
- Panzer II -> 14
- Panzer III -> 14
- Panzer IV -> 14
- Panther -> 14
- Tiger I -> 13
- Tiger II -> 12
The difference between the Movement Points of heavy tanks (Tiger I or II) with regard to the average tanks (Panzer III or IV) is not rather important.

In Operation Barbarossa :
- Panzer 38(t) -> 7
- Panzer II -> 6
- Panzer III -> 6
- Panzer IV -> 6
- Panther -> 6
- Tiger I -> 5
- Tiger II -> 4
For the average tanks (Panzer III or IV), by multiplying by two points of movement then by adding two movement points, we arrive at the movement points for Germany At War.

So for the Tiger I, movement points should be 12 (5*2+2=12) instead of 13. It does not make a big difference for the movements on the clear ground (movement cost =2) but limits a little the movements on roads (movement cost =1).
For the Tiger II, movement points should be 10 (4*2+2=10) instead of 12. It does make a difference.

It is only small adjustments which I propose, no fundamental changes in case the future patch would be born (?)

Mobile artillery :
I think that the mobile artillery does not have enough points of movement with regard to tanks.
It is very difficult for the mobile artillery to follow tanks in their advance.

In Germany at War :
- Wespe Sd.Kfz 124 -> 9
- Panzerwerfer 42 -> 7
- Wurfrahmen 40 -> 8
- Hummel -> 9
- StuH 42 -> 12
The StuH 42 is the only one who can follow the other tanks.

In Operation Barbarossa :
- Wespe Sd.Kfz 124 -> 6
- Panzerwerfer 42 -> 5
- Hummel -> 6
The points of movement of the mobile artillery are equivalent or almost equivalent to tanks, what allows the mobile artillery to follow the tanks in their advance.

Hi terminator,

interesting points. We will look into this (its been now four years since last this was a topic (?)) and will let you know the result and how we arrived at it.

Thanks for the input.
