Post by mlomax »

Can anyone explain to me how I can resupply my units while in the game? ie What exactly do I need to do it and also what I need to do it?

You my friend, need either

*) an ammo truck / carrier

or

*) an ammo dump

and in case you play H2H, maybe even

*) an ammo crate

These work miracles for your artillery units! Just park your ammo resupply in a hex adjacent to the piece/s and they will automagically restock *as long as not suppressed*. Now, ammo trucks are mobile, but will only refill about half the rate of an ammo dump, which in turn can't be moved. So it's all about priorities.

There's lots of threads about this. Generally, an ammo dump will restock mortars in the same rate that they fire. Woohoo.

In the unlikely event that your infantry runs out (I've had this happen)- just take a stroll around the ammo supply, and they will restock ALL their ammo in one turn. Ammo supplys carry every kind of ammo for your convenience. :)

You'll find them in the artillery section and/or the miscellaneous (I think??)

Ammo canisters can be had without H2H installed. I use them all the time and don't have H2H.

The canisters are nice and small, several can be carried on almost ay size truck, APC or Bren carrier. As to infantry runnng out of ammo, that depends upon what the designer started the units with in the way of ammo, if the scenario runs much over fifteen turns I would say the standard leg unit which fires a lot - not even every turn - is due to run out. Depends, to, upon the type of autmatic weapons they are toting.

Canisters can be accessed in Editor, set the date to December 1949, go to Norwegian buy page Misc under ammo.
