Yea Verily, I have beheld the Grail . . .
And it is HUGE!
Is anybody really going to play this monster.
I have just spent hours pondering my next move for one of my UV games. Now I see all those units and all those bases in WitP and I have to ask myself how will I even complete one turn?
For anybody who is holding out for WitP instead of buying UV, I say, get UV now and enjoy a very manageble and well contained campaign.

That's one reason why I am so very much in favor of the Mediterranean game. I will buy and play WITP, but I prefer the smaller theatre-level games. I can't even count how many more times I've played the med scenarios in BOTR than the whole map scenarios. While we all love and dream of the uber-games, it's the more focused ones that I enjoy most. Just a personal observation...
I've heard hints of scenarios in WITP that might just be focused on smaller areas. I am hoping that is the case.

Why do people keep complaning about this game. If it is too big for you DO NOT PLAY IT OR BUY IT. There are many people like me that have beeen looking for a game like this for a long time. Most games up to this point have not been what I wanted. UV is great but it is still not what I am looking for. I am looking for a game about the Pacific War. The old Pacific War was not my liking, but the UV engineis the best for a computer game that I have played. UV is so great because or a person with no computer skills, like DOS, who can surf the net good but that is it can easily play this game. Being a nut about the pacific war this game is a dream come true to me.

Zeta,
The game is a dream come true for anyone interested in the Pacific campign, like myself. Sure I now have to handle more units but I am also one of those players that quickly get into a rutine and keep stuff in my head which brings the time down for each turn.
Just like with UV I find myself doing tons of quick turns and when I need to plan or think it takes longer, as in any game. In short it is a monster but a very manageable one;) Matrix/2by3 is also working on making game play easier as has been disscused in this forum before.
Well that's my impression of the game at the Alpha stage.
Cheers

First Time
Hi, Kinda gets you the first time WITP loads up and the map is there. You start scrolling the map and it just keeps on going and going. Click on the list of units and "Holy Cow" Click on the list of ships and "Holy Cow!!!" Click on the list of air units and "Holy Cow" Then you just start visting bases and checking out what all is where. After a very long time of browsing you start thinking of objectives and what you need to move.
WITP just may be too much game for alot of people. But to some WITP is.......well, a dream come true.

I'm not retreating, I'm attacking in a different direction!
I'm so psyched out for this game that I'm on the verge of rampaging on someone named Cappy, But Nikodemus has to pay me a buck first. By the way, how big is Cappy?
P.S. I'm still pissed that I missed Beta testing after all the time I've spent on this site waiting for a release.

We do hope to do UV Med after WitP. Bomb Alley was always a favorite of mine (what carnage). As for WitP, yes it's huge, but we are taking steps to make very playable theater (limited map) scenarios. If we do that right, people that like UV size games will love it, as will those that want to devote the time needed to play the full map game. That's our hope. Wish us luck.

I heartily concur, and look forward to knocking Raver around the entire Pacific instead of just one corner of it

Just as soon as I get it, you'll be the first on my list.

Never argue with an idiot, he will only drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Okay, so I'm pissed I missed the Alpha Test and will be more pissed if I miss the Beta Test. Who do I kill to be a tester.

Let me put it this way.
it may be wise to cancel all future social engagements after the game comes out.
