Any word at all on the combo game (War In Europe)?

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Any word at all on the combo game (War In Europe)?

Post by DarkstarOne »

Was wondering if there's any more word about the game that will combine WITE and WITW.

No, we're focused on WitE2 now. We have been trying to be careful to think in terms of having 3 players in the future when writing code for WitE2, and we have the data from WitW in the WitE2 database. We'll see where we are once WitE2 is done.

Sob...tears...I'm going to sit in the corner and hold my breath now.

Seriouisly though, would rather have seen WIE than another WITE...can't imagine I'm the only one.

Yes, but we can't get to WiE until we fill in all that East Front stuff again with the new map and rules. It is 70% of the ground combat in Europe (give or take).

I hope you will consider a WiE 1943-1945 (expansion pack or standalone game) after WitE2 is released. Then, after WitM (1940-1943) will be out (in a few years), a WiE (mid 1940-1945) could be considered. Then a WiE 1939-1945... but I doubt a 1939 start (or anything before the fall of France) could be a viable choice with the current game structure.

Note:
WitE: War in the East
WiE: War in Europe
WitM: War in the Mediterranean (or whatever the North Africa Campaign game will be called)
