Looking for Japanese Opponent for Modified Focus Pacific

Post by paradigmblue »

Hi all,

I have a great game going right now with 1EyedJacks, but find myself needing more WitP:AE in my life.

Scenario would be Focus Pacific, with several modifications to ensure a more balanced game:
* Reduced number of allied fighter squadrons - particularly USAAF and French squadrons
* Reduced number of allied aircraft replacements
* Reduced number of training squadrons
* Removal of all Lend-Lease simulation squadrons from Focus Pacific (in stock Focus Pacific, these squadrons are manually shuttled to Soviet Airfields, and take up a lot of pilot slots)
* Removal of Juan's aircraft purchase system squadrons
* Reduction of P-50 squadrons to one fighter group (3 squadrons) and a halved replacement rate for the P-50/P-65 line.
* Delay of Dewoitine D.520 fighters to later in 42.
* Reduced supply generation at Clark and Manilla
* Toned down Dutch CD guns compared to normal Focus Pacific
* Addition of a factory producing the prototype Tojo for Japan at war's start
* Slight reduction in Allied pilot replacement rates

I travel for work quite a bit, but I have a second copy of the game on my laptop now, and I'm usually good for 1-2 turns a day, sometimes more, up to 4+ on weekends. The ideal player would be an aggressive, experienced Japanese player who would use the expanded Japanese OOB to its fullest potential.

House rules would be at a minimum, but I'm open to discuss. Focus Pacific is designed to have active Soviets (and there's a lot of low hanging fruit when it comes to oil for the Japanese right next door because of it), but if you're a less experienced player we can play without active Soviets if you'd prefer.

PDU On, No Unit Withdrawals, Dec. 6 Start, Dec. 7 surprise on, no new TFs on turn one for allied, no adjusting CAP settings turn one for allies except in Burma and China, advanced weather on.

If you're interested, shoot me a PM with your e-mail, and I'll send you the modified scen files so you can take a look. You'll need to have the most recent version of Focus Pacific installed before overwriting the scen files with the modified ones I send.

Intriguing concept. I wish that stock had the Ki-44 in 12/41. Makes for a very different approach for IJA.

Hello,

How bleeding-edge is this mod of yours? Has it been tested deep into the game - say 1945-ish?

Unfortunately, it has not been tested into 45.

Any player would have to accept that there is a chance that things could come unglued in the late game.
