Transferring my game to a new laptop

Post by Strike Eagle »

Hi all, new guy here(at least for the CMANO forums), is it possible to transfer my game and game files via a USB drive to another laptop, so that I don't have to worry about losing any downloads, patches/updates, and any scenarios I modified or created? Thanks in advance.

the game cannot realistically be moved intact (well, it would involve copying the registry anyway)

the saves / .inst files are totally safe though. move them over, install the game then slot them in. it'll be plug & play.

If it's on Steam you can do it. I did it so it wouldn't redownload the whole thing again on the laptop. I just copied the entire game folder (desktop) and placed it on the appropriate Steam folder (laptop). Clicked install and it detected the existing files so verification was just needed and everything was set.

I bought it off Amazon, so that method may not work.
