Happy Birthday AE

Post by btd64 »

I'm surprised that no one noticed this delightful mile stone. AE is 8 years old and still pumping on all boilers. Still have mods of all kinds coming out, latest update was just last year. How many other titles can say that they are as active as AE.....GP

However, I think AE was born not now (8 years ago), but much earlier, that is vanilla WitP. I really hope to see some new edition soon !!!

Happy B-Day to AE.

Seven and eight years ago, I predicted this game would hold my interest for at least a decade.

Has it met that expectation?

Oh yeah. And more.

I'm very thankful that the community has remained so vibrant and large, with lots of old timers phasing out and newcomers coming in. Probably 50% of my enjoyment of the game is this community and reading AARs and posting my own AAR.

Thanks Henderson folks. Thanks Matrix. Thanks AE Forumites.

Best game ever. Best gaming community ever.

Once you factor in the time spent figuring out things this is the cheapest form of entertainment I have ever owned. That includes the donation to get michaelm a new laptop! I spend so much time on this that my wife says I work too hard at my play. [:)]

There are still a half dozen or so contributors, testers, and programmers that still frequent these boards.

Can you guys figure out who's still around? [:D]

Happy Birthday!!!
