Invalid SN

I just re-installed the game from my original CD\DVD I bought when the game first came out ages ago. I downloaded the latest patch and when I try to install and enter my SN it comes back with an invalid SN error message.

The SN I used was the one I got when I bought the game and worked when I installed the game

Problem solved. I loaded the original not AE version
