Post by zasgard »

So, I'm trying to create a random battle using the battle generator....how does one place the units to get the game started?

Hi mike

Yes that is me [:)]

I guess I dont have it figured out. is there a way I can create a random battle with specific units that I can choose? Random battle generator just puts out some random units based on the date you input.

Thanks

Hmm, not really. You can make the random, then edit the heck out of it, then play it, but then there goes the random part of it!!

Think I get it now.

When I create a Random battle it saves as 3 files and going into the scenario editor I'm able to add/remove units in the random battle I made. The challenge now is how to remove/add units! [:D]

Good evening, folks! Anyone out there have any idea how I can generate a Spanish Civil War random battle? I input the dates accurately into the Battle Generstor, and still get a series of error messages. The system seems incapable of generating a SCW battle. Thanks for your help!

Hi ArmyEsq,

I got the same thing when I tried it this morning in West Front. The error messages tell me there are not any available units (battalions, brigades etc.)
for either the Spanish Nationalists or Republic to build a random generated organization. So the program crashes with errors because the organization file could not be made.

I think there is a way to mod the pick from files/lists in the random generator executable so a random scenario can be generated but unfortunately I don't know how its done.

Maybe one of the seasoned mod makers can give a clue on how to do this. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I am guessing there's no relevant CampaignXX.oob for the nations you want to create the battle with.

Not to worry, HERE is a guideline how to mod random battles. Hope it helps!
