Question about saved game file format

Post by Skyfire7631 »

Hi,

I really miss in UV some options to have certain statistics (like, for example, base supplies over time or things like that).

So, I would really like to develop a little tool analysing the saved game file, each turn, and so make these statistics available.

Unfortunately, the saved game has been encrypted in a previous patch, IIRC, so the question is : is it possible to turn off that encryption and have the format of the saved game file ?

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

I doubt if that would be desirable, regardless of the amount of utility - I love playing PBEM because I'm confident that my opponents cannot access the save games in any way, shape or form.

Having said that, some form of external tool to help manage the campaign would be useful.

Hmm, you're right, I did not think about that.

The only other solution I see is that a text file could be created (somewhat like the combatreport.txt file) at the end or beginning of each new turn, containing all essential data, and then we could work on that file.

Regards.
