If you like Pike and Shot, You will love...

Field of Glory 2. This new game is magnificent, and much better in every way to FOG 1, in my opinion.

It has taken and improved on a number of the mechanics of Pike and Shot. The graphics and presentation have been immensely improved, making it much easier to follow the action and the flow fo the battles.

The AI is quite challenging, and the new campaign system is much better than I thought it would be.

It is the first game where the checkerboard alignment of the Romans actually makes sense, and I like to use it. Light troops are crucial, and you have to know how to use them in concert with your heavier forces. A vast variety of troop types, all having a valid historical feel. Battles usually go down to the wire, and proceed in a manner consistent with their historical descriptions.

If you have any interest in tactical ancient warfare, this is the best game I have ever seen.

I hope that Pike and Shot will be revised someday to have some of the improvements.

I support the praise for FOG II, and I would definitely get P&S II and any Napoleonic effort
