opart 4 - slow ?

Post by Franciscus »

Probably a stupid question, but what is the difference between the regular opart 4 exe file and the opart 4 - slow one ?

On first glance the game seems the same on my PC...?

Regards

(BTW, almost newbie to TOAW - I remember having played a bit of the very first iteration - and I must say I am very impressed with this game !)

It is something we kept from TOAW3, but for no other reason than that it was trivial to do so. It is a sort of low end version of the executable. It is meant for people with PC below the minimum system requirements, which must be almost nonexistent nowadays, that's why the launcher doesn't point to it

Technically speaking, it removes the requirement for SSE2, which has been on processors since the Pentium 4. It should make things a little slower.
