Coloured dots
I'm sure I read somewhere on my first read of the manual what the coloured dots on the left hand side of the counters mean, watched all the vids and have read the interface tutorial, but can't find the explanation. I think they something to do with movement.

RE: Coloured dots
I think you're refering to the unit's loss tolerance. One dot means retreatwhat the coloured dots on the left hand side of the counters mean
when the going get's heavy. No losses are the goal. Two dots is the usual
setting, the average setting. Three dots are for those situations when you
can't afford to give up the hex and you want to defend it to the last man. So
to speak.

RE: Coloured dots
The counter colored indicators give an general summary of status, like readiness and supply. From green to red, many shades. As you move a unit, it uses up supply, so it will impact the color. If use it in combat, it uses up supply, readiness, and suffer attrition. Resting units in good supply with no combat will tend to green as they recover.
Basically, a quick easy to recognize indicator for what units you want to use in combat, and those you don't. Red will still fight, but your suffer for it. Sometimes you don't have a choice, but its to help you to know what units need to be rested and what units a ready to go!

RE: Coloured dots
You are both wrong [:D] I'm sure he means the density penalty dot, that when appears indicates that you are gonna suffer more casualties if engage in combat. From green (little penalty) to red (big penalty) Check the manual for further info.

RE: Coloured dots
The small dots on the counter is loss tolerance like larryfulkerson said and the large single dot that is just off the left edge is the density dot like Meyer1 said.

I'm going with Meyer1, I thought "on the counter". And the "left of counter" was just incorrectly stated. Actually, incorrect would be me.

RE: Coloured dots
Larry is wrong Meyer is right ( I think) I was referring to the dot left of the tolerance dots. 13.10 is a bit vague it says " west corner of the location" whats wrong with saying left side of counter. less confusing. With all info on counters there is no graphic showing this coloured dot I don't believe.

I must have some how flipped the names in my head. The fact I had a 12 pack last night probably didn't help either.[X(]

Yes Larry is correct.
However, in TOAW speak you would say that the dots indicate loss tolerance:
1 dot = Minimize losses
2 dots = Limit Losses
3 dots = Ignore Losses
When you attack singly or by a group you get the option to determine which kind of attack and therefore loss tolerance you want to use.
I believe you can also change this by right clicking on the unit.

Hell I'm confused! so who's right? which dots.Lol

I think Larry is paying for votes.[:D]
RE: Coloured dots
Larry is correct, as often is. Meyer1 is correct. Even I was correct. Each of us described a different attribute, the status indicator on the counter, the loss tolerence on the counter, and the stack density (warning of higher losses if combat) to left of "stack of counters".
The original question was about the stack density, which Meyer1 answered. The other info was correct, but it didn't pertain to the original question that started the thread.
