slowAnimation missing from Opart4.ini

Post by Nicholas Bell »

Attempting to find the means to slow down the action in the AI players turn so I watch what it is doing. To use a dated and obscure expression, I feel like I'm watching a "blipvert" when the AI is moving. I am not using Detailed Battle Report. The manual indicates that setting "slowAnimation" to Y might do the trick. Alas, it's not in the .ini file where it should be.

Any help with this?

Thank you.

Watch out for 'Maximum Headroom' signs [;)]

Make sure Caps Lock is off, otherwise maybe try adding 'slowAnimation=Y' to your ini. I said 'maybe', I have no idea if this will work or if it will help you. If it doesn't help or if it creates problems, you can always remove it.
Next maybe better option is to wait and see if someone who knows more about it replies.

Herr Oberst,

Forgot to report back that the animationMovementTimer and animationCombatTime work to slow down the AI movement and combat. I'd suggest doubling and then adjusting from there. It also slows down the player's units, but using caps lock overcomes that issue. Just have to remember to "un-caps lock" before the AI turn starts.

Thanks!
