Confusion supply and invasion

Post by IBender »

This attached picture is actually from the turn after the invasion. When I invaded the previous impulse weather was fine. Also English had large fighting fleet in north sea and also 2 transport ships.

My idea was to land with 2 corps as england and then move one space east and capture a german port...(now has german troops on that spot) I figured I would seriously mess with the germans. I landed one marine and one regular infantry. What happened suprised me, both units landed but both were disorganized. Therefore they didnt move. And my opponent and I just assumed (sinced I was next forced to move my ships from north sea back to port...that my units would be easy kills for the germans as they are disorganized. I did fly 1 resupply airplane to my english units but that didnt seem to help as that airplane only gave 1 unit for resupply and both infantry wanted 2 for resupply.

Long story leading to my question. Ignoring that on the screen shot you see an english airbone division (its not related to the question and came later) What my opponent and I discoverd when the impulse/ turn changed is that both my units that conducted the invasion and both were disorganized...we found that they were both now "organized" They were out of supply but they were organized. Question is...how is this possible? I dont own a port on the mainland and the transports that brought them over for the invasion returned to english ports. fyi I am using all the optional rules.

Thanks a bunch guys appreciate the help.

1. It is possible that on the invasion combat the result caused the units to disorganize. Depends what you rolled. Why did your ships have to leave the sea zone? It is your choice to stay or to go and if even one TRS stayed, even though it goes down one box, it would provide supply. That's for the optional "LOS supply". If you are playing basic supply then any surface ship does the trick.

2. If they are not oil dependent or you are not playing with the oil option, all units reorganize as the end of the turn, even without supply. Many here want the Isolated Re-org option from WiFFE to be coded into the game but that has not yet come to pass. As for ATR Re-org, the costs are doubled if you did not take a Land action. Probably you took a Combined.

I would have commented in case I could have helped but I can see no picture. If this is not due to any problem on my computer's side, I inform you you didn't attach anything. [:)]
