One of several last gasp attempts late in the war by the Japanese forces to secure the airfield at Chihchiang, China.
The Chinese forces had as many divisions as the Japanese had regiments.
Though a rather lop-sided campaign, the Japanese managed to make inroads before the Chinese forces reacted and encircle enough of the Japanese units to stop the attack.
