Weird long campaign battle

Post by jlaurila »

I am playing as germans, in the desert.
i got the weirdest defend mission so far.
there is 5 groups of victory hexes, each 15pts/turn type. as far as i know, the AI will only go for 20+ points hexes, so the enemy never showed up. they pound me with some artillery, and i'll give it back to them...
kinda stationary situtiation i got here, oh well.

Weird indeed. I've never seen that one!

haven't seen this one either, but I have seen the central three all being 15/pt a turn hexes, and so being ignored by the AI. I couldn't work out why uit was pulling back its fresh units, without me even firing on them (they were going to defend its hindmost cluster). Another time I left most of my force guarding the 15/pt/turn hexes for most of the game before realising the AI didn't care about them ... by which time he had snuck a column of ACs onto my home plate ... oops.

Well, it ended being not so weird. (i wrote the first message too early, grunts just dont fly). AI wasted over 500 men trying to take the most southern group of 4 Vhexes, without any armor
(he had grants and sherman I's)
man, it almost got ugly, cause i had secured those hexes only with FJ-platoon. but artillery makes a miracle Image

Build up minefield, 4 to 5 hexes deep and shoot them all with guns and rockets, thats lots of plates for Montgomery to collect! I loosed one crew in my own minefield before AI surrended, took about seven turns, hadn't have so much fun at ages 8/)
salute

mosh

If its not rotten, shoot again
