What does reconnoiter do besides using 35 action points? I did a search on recon in the manual but never found what this does.

When playing with fog of war on, it will reveal enemy units in Line of Sight.

Yes Jason, the recon is a really cool new feature! I played through Boot 5 following the manual and it explains
what is going on in detail very well. Nice touch!![;)]

I figure it out. The recon option is called "Recon Reveal" in the tool tip on the icons below the map but its called "reconnoiter" in the menu options at the top. I thought these were 2 different abilities.

Just different 'slang'... e.g. reece, recon, reconnaissance, reconnoitre...

In military operations, reconnaissance or scouting is the exploration outside an area occupied by friendly forces to gain information about natural features and enemy presence. Often called "recce" (British and Canadian English) or "recon" (American and Australian English), the associated verb is reconnaître.
