I have been searching for a breakdown of the leader control range in New Dawn random game, but cannot seem to find a simple answer anywhere on the web. I assume that there's a variable to the range based on the map size. Can anyone confirm that, and if possible give me a range breakdown or direct me to the table I cannot seem to find? thanks so very much!

Is this what you are looking for?

"The closer an HQ is to the units it commands the bigger the combat bonus: (0-3 hex/100%, 4 hex/80%, 5 hex/60%, 6 hex/40%, 7 hex/20%). If an HQ is 8 or more hexes from the units it commands, they do not get any HQP bonuses in combat (attack or defense)."

I think it may be - does this affect the headquarters - to - subordinate HQ line as well? IOW, is the theoretical max effective from a top level HQ down to a line fighting unit a max of 15 (4 HQ's and unit itself) to 40 for absolute minimum effectiveness (5 x 8)?

It only affects units under the direct command of the HQ.
