Its amazing how an image in colour makes it so much more real and identifiable....

Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

Sad, very sad. A very telling picture illustrating the horror and indignity that war can inflict. I see children's faces not much different to the one above in news reports from Syria and other war torn regions in the world. Yet the madness continues. Santayana must be turning in his grave.

Thank you for sharing.

Now I just want to cry. And when I say want to, I am actually meaning that I am.

"The Polish teenager arrived at the concentration camp on 13 December 1942 where she was given a serial number, beaten by Nazi prison guards and photographed. Three months later she was killed. The only lasting trace of her brief existence is her black and white registration photo."

In what form is the evidence of this? How would there be any record of a beating, and a death, if the only "trace of her existence" is this photo?

The Germans kept very good records of everything. So it is quite possible that the information came from camp records.

However, not taking it into account about this child having been beaten and her eventual death, is the picture not enough? Considering the overwhelming documentation concerning the death camps..........surely you are not doubting the horrors of Nazi Germany.

So I ask, "What is your point?"

This will get shut down due to politics, unfortunately there are people that deny the horrors of the death camps.

I understand that the full German records have never been put online. Is this true?
If their records were online, it would make it harder to deny. And the Germans kept good records.

Asking about evidence is ok with me.

Maybe we can stay away from the name calling, implied or other wise.

We should ALL ask about evidence for ANYTHING and/or EVERYTHING in news/social media/forums/rumour.

(Not to mention that in this particular instance, the question asked, was an obvious one based on the blatantly conflicting information presented. Whether mistakenly so or not.)

Well said. My questions were antiseptic. I know there are a dearth of "holocaust" records. The evidence rests on 7 supposed eyewitnesses, nothing more. Where is this evidence, or are we supposed to believe on faith, as with religion?

I cannot go to the site or see the sad picture or read the (I assume) associated article. And I don't want to go into specifics of the holocaust. But I do know if a statement says "there are no records beyond a single photograph" and then proceeds to give a detailed history of the person in the picture, a question MUST be asked. No matter what context and/or subject matter.

The recounting, directly from the person that took the picture (towards end of video, from "Portraitist"):

The picture is awful beyond belief, and what some are capable of towards their fellow humankind is beyond imagination. Look at it, because she should be remembered.

You will find people today that claim the holocaust never happened. They will deny all the eyewitness acounts and all the records and pictures and demand more proof.

I don't know does my noting that people disbelieve facts bother you? As for questioning this fact in this thread it was answered as to how the beatings were known to happen.
