Post by temkc5 »

I was wondering what's the best way to create 25 nautical mile grid squares

for a Carrier Group to practice positioning and tactics etc?

Click for example

Help me LUA Wizards you're my only hope [:D]

Hi temkc5

This script will use your input to generate a grid with a user-specified number of rows and columns at a user-specified distance from each other.

I've kept the maximum number of rows/columns at 26 and maximum grid square size at 100nm for the moment (thats a very big grid) but you could easily change this.

To use; place a reference point on the map, copy the attached code into your console and press 'run' (attached in a zip file for easier reading). Follow the on-screen prompts.

Thanks apache85

It works as advertised with no problem

I also appreciate having those pop-up input box rather than a error message

Cool stuff ... and thanks for that video. Those new to ASW and playing Silent Service will find its matter of fact style very understandable.
