Similar to WIA?

This looks very similar to AGEOD's Wars in America (BoA2). I liked that one because it had no need for long command chains, making it a bit simpler. Am I right in thinking this?

As far as Command they are similar... no Grand HQs or Corps. I actually find ECW a little easier when it comes to avoiding penalties. I think generals give more command points.

ECW does have regional decisions which WIA does not have; that adds some complexity. Both games have challenging supply imho. The map in WIA covers a larger area. Most of ECW fighting is done south of Scotland.

If you decide to get ECW make sure to patch it immediately I think 1.03a is latest version... The launch version had a few serious bugs.

Thanks. I had just bought a game and three days later got notice that I had been a customer for seven years and here's a coupon. Bad timing, but this is very reasonably priced and I love the time period and location.

Yeah, my luck too. I have stopped looking for discounts and breaks.
