I hope this is the right place in the Forum for this question. I'm playing the Operation Brass Drum Scenario and I'm having trouble figuring out how to configure the KC-130J tankers to refuel only the MH=53E Mine hunting helos. Whenever they enter the area, any aircraft that is running low on fuel will head for them instead of the KC-135's. I'm sure there is some doctrine I'm overlooking but I have not figured it out yet. Also, is there a reason the helos won't refuel from the =135's?

I'm not positive, but I would think the KC-135s could not fly slow enough to refuel the helos.

KC-130s can refuel them. there is no way to restrict (IIRC) who tankers will give fuel to, save on the receiver's side.

my advice is:

assign any missions that need to refuel to exclusively refuel from a separate mission (KC-135s or some subdivision of your -130s)

assign the helos to only refuel from the 130 mission

to do this:

go into the mission editor, select the desired mission you wish to edit, on the middle panel there is a small button near the refueling settings, in the receiver settings it's possible to set which mission(s) they will receive from, set the mission that only includes the tankers you do not wish to refuel the dragons.

you'll have to do it on every mission (not including the missions you have told not to refuel at all) but you will get the desired effect.

Thanks Cik! Yes, the 135's are too fast for the helos. I'll give the mission editor thing a try though.

You can also manually direct the MH-53s to tank from the KC-130. Always slow your tankers to Loiter speed when in tanking ops.
