2.8.4. Winterized Land Combat Bug.

Axis elect to use winterized unit (i.e., YUG MTN) to lead the attack. This gives odds of +11.8 assault. The axis make their fractional odds and roll a 10. This should have produced a modified result of +22, resulting in the loss of the YUG mountain corps and the disorganization of 3 of the 7 remaining attackers. However, MWiF produces a modified roll of 21, apparently ignoring the winterized contribution from the YUG mountain corps.

FYI. A land combat earlier in the impulse with a German mountain unit leading the way did result in the +1 bonus for winterized unit and also resulted in the loss of the said mountain unit.

Haven't been playing for a couple of months but it seems to me the winterized bonus is accounted for
since the weather effect in snow against a winterized defender in your attack is -5 instead of -6?
If so your odds are +10.8 which with a successful fractions roll should give you a result of 21.

Snow - 4, defender is winterized -2, attacker winterized +1 = -5

I also agree it would be a +11 after the fractional roll is successful. There may be a cosmetic issue where the odds are stated but I think the MWiF result of 21 is right.

Thank guys ... that makes sense. I see now that the winterized bonuses were applied correctly and that the odds were misstated. Still a bug but a different one than I posted.

I think it's slightly more than cosmetic but the right result came about as the fractional odds roll was made.

42.5:5 = 8.5:1. By my reckoning, if I'm reading the rules correctly, this should translate to +17, no fractional. The terrain, city and weather modifications appear correct at -6 in total, which would give the +11 overall.

I can't figure out why the basic odds were +16.8, rather than +17.

It's 42:5, not 42,5:5. The calculations are correct...
