5 US ARMY

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

5 US ARMY

Post by tonyscrase »

I am playing the campaign game. I have invaded italy and want to move the 5 US ARMY HQ to italy but the problem is that its transport cost is 118,063 which is more than any port capacity.
Is there a way round this

thank you

The 'weight' of an HQ is the sum of the unit itself, and ALL the support units in it.

The safest way to transport all those support units to another landmass is to 'PUSH' them. Unfortunately, you will have to temporarily store all those support units in another ARMY or higher HQ. Then the 5th Army will be light as a feather only needing some transports. After it lands, you can PUSH the support units back.

By PUSH I mean click on each support unit and change it's Parent HQ to another one...it then shows up as an attachment to the new HQ.
