And a light rain fell....

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

And a light rain fell....

So now my Soviets can't hit the broadside of a barn... from the inside...

and my 8 bombers are grounded on the tarmac...

With the EW high and limited staff orders, I feel like I am watching a bad movie..

I think in less than an hour, he destroyed 2400 VPs, I may have killed 1 tank...

it was fun while it lasted...I think this scenario is over...

Mother nature can be a real challenge at times. Precipitation plays hell with spotting, combat, movement, and electronics. It can ground aircraft and helos. Also close down engagement ranges.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!

Stupid rain! (playing 3rd Herd as Soviets)

However, my guys got some payback last turn and so the VPs inflicted are much more comparable.

Except for the fact that he started with 12k VPs and I started with 8k. Not looking good, I should have gone on the defensive I guess.... Being the Soviet player, I figured it was my duty to attack. I am thinking I was supposed to be a bit more defensive in this scenario.

but when/if the weather clears..... he's in for it![:-]

I am starting to learn that if some formations rip me a new one, if I have anyone left that's in good order, they need to attack ASAP as the offenders will have low readiness and probably out of ammo. Do not wait for them to recover and reload...[:-]

I'm slow but I'm learning!

When play as WP, I hate light rain weather.
Weather: Light Rain / Day, Visibility: 2000 meters.
it will reduce the visibility to 2000m. The effective range of Thermal sights will also be reduced, but Thermal sights can still see the target at 3500m to 4000m. That is in range of TOW and western tank canon's effective range.
As a WP player, caught in light rain weather could be deadly. You might be able to see the NATO who shoot at you around 2000m to 2500m after suffering one salvo of deadly fire. And if NATO is shooting you at 3000m to 4000m, there is no way you can see the shooter.
Sir? Do you want to order a Kung Pao Chicken or a Kung Fu Chicken?

at the early stage of the game, you can keep one well rested/supplied formation behind, give them a 3 waypoint order, set the delay to 180min
When you need this formation somewhere, drag the waypoints there, change the delay to 0min, then "lock and load".

Awesome on several levels. I love it! [&o]

At my local restaurant, I am nicknamed Kung Pao because that is all I get regardless of what the daily special is.
