Communication Networks..Help!!

Command: Chains of War is a DLC for Command: Modern Operations. 20 minutes into the future, a spark erupts in the Korean peninsula that will lead to a theaterwide conflagration embroiling the entire Western Pacific and drag all major powers into it.

Communication Networks..Help!!

Post by obrien979 »

Can anyone please explain the communication network structure to me?! I see that a majority of the units have some sort of Communication method listed in their DB record. How exactly do these work in the commercial version? I have read that if comms are destroyed or disrupted then unit positioning and command is lost, however do I need to have relay stations, COmms Bunkers, C3M Bunkers, etc to help add more realism or are the units across the world going to be always controllable and see?

Thanks in Advance!

Hi obrien979

All allied units are always in communication with each other as long as their comms equipment are operational, so you don´t have to worry about comms bunkers etc.
In fact. These units don´t really do anything. They are there solely for atmosphere and to act like targets.

The only case where you have to consider comms is when you control datalinked weapons. In this case, the controlling unit have to be within comms range of the weapon.

Hope this helped.

SO when looking at the database record for a unit or building, I should now just ignore the Comms section since those values mean absolutely nothing?! Maybe they are there for use in the professional edition?

It does sound like you are looking for professional features. Are you working for a mil/gov/org outfit ?

I am a US Gov't Contractor that works with Models and Simulations. We use a Conflict simulator to train units that come through the center. That is what got me fascinated in Warfare Simulators.
