Desync

Post by Edward75 »

Desync or out of sync, I do not know how correctly in English.
In what there can be a reason in game? How to solve it?

Out of Sync Combat Replay vs Reality (report) can happen - usually in PBEM games, and the reason is most probably the different version of the game.
So if its PBEM, the solution is to check with your opponent if you both have the correct game version (including Betas). Once this is resolved the Out of Sync should stop occuring.

I always play with same version of game, but sometimes it happens anyway.
Maybe my opponent (not now) is playing with another opponent with a different version of game. Then can I have a desync after that?

Ask your Japanese opponent to not use ESC to speed up combat resolution, use the 'Z' Key instead.

Even experienced players with everything set the same sometimes have the Sync Bug. The two computers are processing huge amounts of data and transmitting back and forth. Any dropped byte from the hard drive or during transmission could cause issues. I am not sure how robust the game error detection and correction is.

There is a way to detect the bug before your partner runs the turn. If he compares the archived Combat Report that gets sent ahead of the turn with the one received when he gets the turn and looks for a different size in bytes, there is a synch bug. As I understand it the Japanese Combat Report is the real one and he should look at that one to see how the turn went, and ignore the combat replay animation and Combat Report received earlier.

If there are no other problems with turn compatibility the Sync Bug should go away next turn.

Why during air phase, when there are air battles this happens:
Before flying, it shows how many planes are attacking and how much they are defense. But in Air Combat Summary I see a different number of planes. Also number of losses in it is always indicated less than really. Is it a desync or something else?
