No cmpaigns inc with dowload for 7.1

Post by Colwyn »

The manual indicates a Long WW2 campaign included with the game yet I don't see it anywhere around. I know you can buy mega campaigns but I really wanted to play the one mentioned in the 5.0 manual.

Ideally I want to play the soviets through the whole war 41 to 45 with rewards and consequences flowing from the level of success in each scenario and keeping units from one scen to the other, ie sorta like CC3

Can someone please advise.

Thanks

Accessing the campaign menu

Colwyn, the long campaign is one of my favorite features of SPWaW. On the main menu, click "Solitaire Play". On the next screen, click "Campaign". The campaign menu lists several pre-generated campaigns, including one for the Russians called "Heroes of the Motherland". However, you want to click the second choice, "WWII Campaign", and then "Start". The next menu shows the six nations you can choose from, and the date you want the war to begin. Click the Soviet flag and select "June 1941" as the start date. From there, you are taken to the purchase screen for your core force. You can search the forums for ideas on core force selections. The biggest differences between this and CC3 are the random series of battles you'll get with each campaign (from 25 to 30 for a typical four-year war), and the size of the force you'll command (a reinforced battalion). Let me warn you now, though: after April or May 1945, a scenario may end with the message "The war has ended." And that's all. The campaign is over. No victory parade or fanfare. Despite that, you should find it a rewarding experience. Good luck, Comrade Colonel!
