New Units in eternal suspension

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

New Units in eternal suspension

Post by DeriKuk »

Sometimes a unit gets built, but before it can be placed, the placement conditions change.

Example: The Allies invade through southern France. They liberate Vichy from Axis occupation, and then proceed to build ALLIED Vichy combat units. A short while later Paris is liberated ...and Vichy France is united with "Blue" France. The built units can now not be placed, because Vichy France no longer exists. They keep popping up on the "New Units" roster.

Suggest: Convert the Vichy units to "Blue" French units, and reduce the number of French combat units to be built.

That's a tricky one, I see what you are after, and I'd have to think about how to make that work universally in the game engine as we have an event that simply rejoins the territory of Vichy with France via a script, but that event would have to be made aware of units also in the P/Q to be rejoined etc, so it would need more powerful variables to ensure that kind of logic made sense in the script and for the game engine to handle.

Maybe you could just refund the mpp as a stop gap?

I think there was a warning in the notes to the reincorporation decision that units would be lost though, it's probably worth considering to keep Vichy on it's own if you have invested in mobilizing it's forces.
