Has Anyone Tried to Achieve Near Historical Results ?

I was wondering if anyone has tried to achieve near historical results in the long (39 onwards) scenario ?

Not with a primary focus on winning - but instead attempting to keep the same basic flow of the actual war.

I'm in my first game (against the AI) and am interested in trying to do this myself - conquering the same countries / territories

that the Axis did in somewhat matching timeframes - leading to the eventual turning of the tide and then defense

against the Western Allies and the SU.


Did anyone else give this a try ?

Play the Allies. AI advantage: 0;0.5;10% AI controls Soviet Union, but player controls SU research. Do not ban the French Communist Deputies. Do not send a force to assist the Fins. When Barbarossa comes, let the AI handle the SU for the first year (until middle '42); then control the SU for two years (until middle '44). Win in North Africa with the British (tough for many beginners). Run Operation Torch with the U.S. The rest is up to you.

Thanks Derikuk - I'll give your guidelines a shot when I play the Allies (next game)

Anyone run this type of exercise as the Axis and have any degree of success with roughly maintaining the historical flow ?
