National Reserve not working!

National Reserve not working!

Hello all, I have said this before in two different posts but since it seems like nothing is being done about it I am going to post this again: Air Groups in the National Reserve are only losing 1 fatigue point per turn no matter how long you leave them there. This is without a doubt a bug that needs to be fixed as it makes the air game pretty unplayable.

As a workaround, you can set up training/resting airbases and air transfer fatigued air groups in the rear area. But I agree that it needs fixing, because transferring them to a rear area base takes more time than simply clicking "reserve"

This is what I'm currently doing but that is far from optimal. As the Axis you have a limited number of air bases and in 1941 you need each and every one of them for different purposes so you can't afford to just leave air bases in Poland or East Prussia. Secondly you cannot put all fatigued air groups in one air base as the air base cannot support all of them which will lead to many taking reserve status so you have to move them to the NR and then retransfer on the field which takes a lot of time (3 turns at least). Not to mention its a hassle. I really hope thy fix this fast.

wish the game allowed players to build new airfields...
At start of campaign all on map air groups have a minimum fatigue level hardcoded. Most german air elements start out with fatigue levels ranging from 12 to 16. This minimum starting fatigue default may be part of the issue here.

That will be added in WITE 2 I believe. No I don't think that's the issue here. This only began after installing the new patch. And we are now on turn 8 so I doubt that's it.

try manual alternating the planes from each base...its a bit of a pain, buts keeps the German air force working much longer
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.

Found and fixed. The code was treating National Reserve as an isolated airbase and the reduction of fatigue was limited to *0.95...
Not my bug, never visited that function :)

I also noticed that auto swaps were less likely to occur in national reserve than on the map now - I assume this is the reason?
