how to interdict axis recon

Post by MrBlizzard »

Hi all,
I'm playing battleground italy as the Allies, we're arrived almost to the end of the scenary
and every turn Axis planes make a lot of recon over my front lines.
It seems Allied AA is pretty useless, for istance this turn no planes where downed by flak even is enemy is flying on a wall of flak.

Edit : Axis just had 1 recon lost (operations loss) probably because flying in rain.

Sometimes Allied AA doesn't even show up like in this case

6 enemy planes were flying at:
31.000 feet 1x Ar234B-1
15.000 feet 5x Bf109G-8

Allied flak was 6/5 in the hex, in detail there were at least:
1 british light AA rgt with 41 ready 40mm guns
1 US autoWeapons battalion with other 29 ready 40mm and 29 .50in quad AAMG
1 BR armored div with other 35 AA 40mm

but in combat box no Allied AA appears at all

any clue?
thanks

I run another turn, putting on some air superiority missions to try to interdict a very boldy Axis recon.
well, the result was just one recon plane downed by fighters and... one mustang IV downed by recon planes [:(]
so ratio was 1:1 [X(]

Allied flak didn't catch anything this turn....[8|]

So the question is still what should I do to prevent the Axis recon to easily know all my moves ? [:)]

Any thoughts appreciated

Thanks

Mr. Blizzard,

I can't say for sure, but if you're flak is a mix of 40mm and 50 cal, and the recon is flying at 31K', your flak doesn't reach that altitude.

Hi cfulbright,
my flak is the whole allied inventory, so also 90mm and 3.7in big AA gun
and enemy planes are flying both at 15000 and 25000 feet.
