Tigers on the Prowl/Panthers in the Shadows exp disks

Post by Agathosdaimon »

Heya!
the recent mention of the TU again here in the forum just brought to my something i have been meaning to query - does anyone here have any of the extra campaign disks/scenarios for Tigers on the Prowl and Panthers in the Shadows? I have both the boxed main games, and there were so extra scenarios at HPS but all those campaign disks i cannot find anywhere and HPS says they no longer have them, so i am just hoping that maybe someone here has them and could share them/sell them?

regards

Same here. I still have the two games and the free scenarios available on HPS website, but I lost the expansion disks in the mist of time (let's not forget: it was 1995 or so). Years ago I heard that the originals, too, are somehow lost.

Great games, even if the graphics were ugly for a mid '90s game - go figure. I run them under DOSBox, and I always keep a backup copy on DropBox. A remake with only better graphics and a more modern UI would be an insta-buy.

after having some further communication with teh HPS folks it seems that sadly all the expansions disk information was lost after all these years, the only hope would be for someone haviing the actual disks and if they would either provide the contents or sell the expansions disks. fortunately there are still a good number of scenarios for these 2 games

Where do you live? If you're not too far from the DC area, I could drive to image them for everyone.

I actually went through a phase of collecting old 3.5" disks and imaging them, so I know some of this stuff.

i live in the woodlands, texas, just north of houston. i got them in a trade about 20 years ago. they've survived 2 or
3 hurricanes and 3 house moves. honestly i can't remember much about anything in the box. first time i've taken them out
since the trade.

i will help. the disks have been stored. never got wet or anything.

some have "panthers" on them; some have "tigers" on them.

One disk is titled "dragons in the mist"...an add on for Tigers or Panthers.

oh cool all sounds great, it would be marvellous to get copies of their contents, you might be the last hope in the world helping preserve and share the disk contents

I'm very interested in a copy, too. Is this thing doable?

well for me and others i am sure, those good ole dos days never have to end :) there is so much i missed out on from that era and i find myself playing dos games far more than windows games of late - my great joy of late being Digital Integration's Tornado flight sim, DID's EF2000 V2.0, EA's Seal Team, Spectrum Holobyte's Falcon 1, and Fleet Defender - one of Microprose's best sims i think

on the strategy side - Great Naval BattleS Guadalcanal and Flight Commander 2 - all such a pleasure and challenge to play when i have time to do so

Anyone know how long data can stay accessible regarding a floppy or hard disk?
