Fires and damage to land combat units

Post by Cavalry Corp »

Guys,

Can you tell me if fires damage land combat units in the hex. It's April 42 and I am still bombarding Manila sometimes starting a lot of fires. Those fires are damaging some of the other industrial capacity but I was wondering about land combat units.

This mod is focus pacific.

I don't think fires do anything to the troops in the hex.

The only thing I saw was that there was some speculation a few years ago about fires in a hex possibly burning up supplies, but I think that's basically impossible to test.

Yes sir .. I agree wholeheartedly with you.

Uncertain that it actually 'eats supplies' in the engine but perhaps it further 'spends supply' in putting out fires??

Albeit no expert has actually specifically confirmed this is an engine function.

It can be done in HtH by 4E-bombing an empty base stockpiling supplies one turn and then observing supplies during subsequent turns when fires are still there.

Edit: island base, with no supply generating industry, that is

True. Go test it then!

Also make sure not to have any units (or at least none with AA) there because we don't know exactly how much supply AA uses.
