Not able to start in fullscreen
Symptoms: When I start the game with "desktop size" checked, the game terminates on start and return without any error message back to the launcher. Windowed mode works just fine, but it is obviously not pleasant to play in that way.
I tried to restart my laptop and I have the latest graphics driver for my system.
My laptop has Intel i3 with hd3000 graphics. My native resolution is 1366x768 with 16:10 ratio.
dxdiag info log is attached to the post

RE: Not able to start in fullscreen
I made a fresh install with win10 and got the latest drivers with win10 support, including chipset, motherboard drivers I could find. However, I want to highlight the contradiction here. As mentioned before, the game runs just fine in windowed mode. I don't want to fight the min requirements, but that quite odd. In the other hand in another thread which you also moderate other clients have the exact same issue with the full-screen mode but have a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070(!) GPU.
I understand that you have to right to cut any help with the min requirement argument. I just hope in the combination with others it would be at least worth having a ticket in your troubleshooting department.

RE: Not able to start in fullscreen
support is still here if you need it, i was just mentioning what needed doing first, now you have done it, and still have an issue, i'm sorry about it, but at least you have done as asked, so now is the help on offer,
you have a choice of full staff support via a support ticket of can carry on with me or the developer, your call?
for me, not only have you not got the full amount of dedicated GPU ram, you're laptop is on the slower side with hardly any main system ram, so not only will windows suffer, but the game as a whole will need as much free ram as possible,
so lets get onto that part first,

go into your startup and disable as much as possible to free up some resources

as your on windows 10, which comes with many items loaded, which you also don't need or should have loaded, lets disable some, and free up some more

now finally the last one,

now you should have the maximum amount of power, your laptop has, now it should at least run a bit better and quicker, now down to the game advice

RE: Not able to start in fullscreen
so we have the developers comments first, his advice to you,
now as you have already had one error,
now, using the DESKTOP SIZE setting in the launcher does it cause the issues or make it better?
If you disable the DESKTOP SIZE selection and use the max custom setting, does it work any better?
One way to make the game run on old systems is to enable the 'Do not load terrain textures' option in the settings launcher. It will save hundreds of MB of video memory.
now as you have already had one error,
the .cfg files in the data\cfg folder should be deleted.

RE: Not able to start in fullscreen
The terrain textures are loaded when a scenario starts, so the 'Do not load terrain textures' option doesn't have effect in the main menu.

RE: Not able to start in fullscreen
poster hasn't posted an game error logs so it's hard to say what else could be the issue?
apart what's already been mentioned and suggested, anything else for him to try?
as both methods for me worked fine, as i've tried my laptops and all my desktop sizes with no issue

so manually selecting or using the desktop default one, worked, so not a lot more i can suggest to him as per help, as i'm 99% sure it's hardware and not fully 2.0 compatible / or with enough dedicated ram to work at this size, so is why windowed mode works for him?

Other than checking if there's the error.log file in the game folder, right now I don't have other suggestions.

The windowed modes usually work fine, but some systems have issues with the full-screen mode. The issue may be deeply rooted in the programming framework we're using, and very hard to fix. It would be great if we found something common in these cases, to find out if there's a certain hardware/software combination that is causing this.

RE: Not able to start in fullscreen
just not going to get this imo with this one mind you
Memory: 4096MB RAM for base memory and out of this Shared Memory: 1632 MB being shared for some help with the video memory makes it hard going to display, which maybe why windowed works ok but full screen doesn't, but makes windows as a whole too slow to be of much use, i'm surprised it worked at all, as the GPU is bolted on to the CPU, which is only a I3 and the lowest spec one to start off with, so 350 MHz and a 01 Feb 2011 release date, means it's old, very old now days, maybe with some base memory it maybe able to go full screen, but wouldn't advice spending tbh because of age and cost

RE: Not able to start in fullscreen
There is no error log to find and deleting the .cfg files doesn't help. I could only monitor that it does not recreate those files in full screen because the game doesn't even initialize. And for the 3rd time, yes, the game runs perfectly with its next-gen bitmap based graphics with max settings and native resolution on my system in window mode. As far I know, fullscreen use fewer resources, not more, but I wouldn't assume the there is a resource problem, which the developer confirms.
Don't worry I have my gaming rig, but armored battalion is just perfect to play outside because of the simple graphics. Hope there is a fix to this issue, but if it is a hardcoded problem then I must live with it.

RE: Not able to start in fullscreen
I came up with my own workaround:
--> download and install the simple program "Borderless Gaming"
--> configure the game to window mode and native resolution (uncheck "desktop size" in the settings for that)
--> choose "Armored Brigade" in your "borderless Gaming" app after starting the game in windowed mode (be aware to take the game .exe and not the launcher)
--> enjoy the game with borderless window mode
--> wait for devs to implement a borderless window mode
--> profit

RE: Not able to start in fullscreen
Is there a way to run the program in full desktop mode? i.e. when you load in full desktop mode, the windows task bar isn't still showing in the bottom of the screen and therefore you can't scroll the map. I find this annoying and there must be an easy workaround?

Set your task bar to auto hide. That's what I did. At some point I will figure out how to get the game on my second screen.

Do you have the 'desktop size' option enabled?
