Fast speed and zoom questions

Post by PoorOldSpike »

1- When playing at 'Fast' speed, is there a way to make the game automatically return to normal speed when the enemy is spotted or if shooting starts?
2- Is there a way to reduce the sensitivity of the zoom in/out keys so that the zoom "steps" are smaller?

1) No, but someone else suggested pause etc. for circumstances.

2) I don't think so. Youd have to go into your control panel to change how many lines your scroll button moves with each tic.

Thanks, but if we're on 'Fast' speed and sitting munching our popcorn waiting for the action to start, there's suddenly a crackle of gunfire etc that's all over in a matter of a couple of seconds, and if we dive for the Pause button, all we see are a bunch of smoking wrecks or whatever.
But in games like 'Harpoon' there's a very useful option to automatically stop the game when contact with the enemy is made.

I think we might need a slight speed increase like 1x, 2x, 3x etc. My 2000th, got to it, thanks Armored Brigade.

I'd like it to be like the graviteam games which have a whole slew of choices to set on what actions to pause for, you can even set to jump to the location.

It has been suggested several times that there should be options for automatic pausing/scrolling. Can you make a list of the important events that should have such an option?

IMO, for auto pause and center on screen...

1) Unit taking fire
2) Unit Damaged
3) Unit Killed
4) Unit Immobilized

Maybe something around Objective lost also. That one's not a biggie to me.

These would each be an option.

I don't think I'd like the game to keep auto-pausing because that would be unrealistic and would break up the flow of play.
But what I WOULD like is for a game being played at Fast speed to auto-drop to normal speedwhenever an enemy is spotted, or if the enemy shoots, or if anything happens.
