Graphic Issue

So I just bought WitPAE and have modded the game with a new map and some other stuff. But now my planes are completely gone, when there is a airfight the sky is clear except names. I am running with the command -dd_fw.

Anyone have a clue?

Based on what you provided, not really.

The problem could result from several causes such as

• a faulty mod
• incorrect installation of the mod
• selected time display option chosen
• command line switches used or left out (least likely)

Others have had problems with missing graphics after modding or patching the game, and sometimes it is just that the artwork is not in the right folder.
The aircraft artwork is on several long vertical strips with multiple aircraft drawings stacked one above the other. IIRC you need two strips for each aircraft, a magenta coloured outline drawing and another strip with the art picture. Find those files and make sure they are in the game's ART folder.

EDIT: Just looked in the game folders. The part about the magenta drawing "shill" applies to ship art but I don't see one for aircraft. I can't upload the aircraft "button3A" file because it is a bitmap, and the forum only allows jpg or gif.

Yeah I was very careful in installing everything correct. And I did actually solve it today, or rather it got solved. I tried adding -deepColor. And now i have planes.

Sometimes artwork goes missing in the stock game that is running for too long. I have this issue now and then. Relaunching the exe helps

+1 GA. Another thing is if something interrupts the game during animation you often lose the animation effects and/or artwork of the ships/aircraft.

My anti-virus had a bad habit of taking control of the screen and minimizing the game when ever the A-V had to screen an incoming message or whatever it was doing. When I returned the game screen to view the animations would be gone for that particular battle and sometimes for the whole turn.
