Odd black box

Just got the game today and I'm looking at the Midway scenario. When I left click on the Yorktown, then left click through to an air group, and then right click on the air group I get an odd black box popping up. Is that normal or some kind of graphics bug? Thanks.

I already did that when I got the game. I'm at 4.1.0.21 which I believe is the latest.

The black box looks like the location of the tooltip. Do you get a tooltip there when you hover the cursor over the unit?

On my system, the tooltip shows, but when I right click on the unit as you did, the tooltip goes away.

Pretty sure it was a tooltip at one point and it did go away at some point. It's not the only time it's happened. I see empty black boxes after other mouse overs. So this is a "feature" not a bug then?

Not a feature, as it doesn't happen to me at all - I mean blank black boxes. I'm guessing it's either a setting (eg: how long tooltips last) or perhaps your graphics card is not keeping up. Do you happen to have an older GPU?

Nope, I have a GeForce GTX 960 with 4GB of memory. At least that's not an old card to me. I have not changed any settings from the defaults but will look into that. Thanks.

Set tooltips to maximum. There's some other threads that discuss this same thing a couple of other people have seen. I have a GTX950 and don't have this.

And the standard, be sure your drivers are up to date. [;)]

Yup, forgot to mention my drivers are at 417.35 which I believe are the latest. Will set tooltips to max and see if that helps. Thanks.

Yeah, that's what I do on my machine....turn the tooltips not to start until after about 0.5 seconds and turn off after about 0.1 seconds. Just enough to get a glimpse.
