The sub in the pic below ended its turn next to the US DD and CL. I don't remember if I could have attacked it with the CL...but I definitely could not attack it with the DD [&:]
The weather was good and the DD had full action points, supply 8, and good readiness and morale. I even tried moving one hex backward and then forward again to see if that would resolve the issue, but it didn't.
I was able to attack the sub with the UK DD to the North East of it.
What am I missing here? Could this be a bug? Is supply 8 too low to attack a sub with?
Cheers,
C

Is America at war with Germany?
After the Japanese attack the US, N. America doesn't go automatically to war against Germany, iirc. One of them has to declare war against the other, Germany or the USA.

I used to think that some of your posts were humorous and some were weird and inappropriate; and I did get a kick out of some of the humorous ones, but if you are suggesting that I am lacking in intelligence by referring to me as a millennial, I'll have you know that I have a PhD in Biochemistry and an IQ of 140.
I also served with distinction in the Canadian military from 1979 to 1985 (1st PPCLI in Calgary).
I have been playing war games starting with Avalon Hill games as far back as 1975...so do not refer to me as a millennial in a condescending and derogatory manner.
Thank you,
C

Gotta agree with you 100%. Let's keep this board friendly. I've made my own share of silly mistakes and appreciate help when I can't see what others would view as the obvious - like where's my glasses when there right on my head.
"I also served with distinction in the Canadian military from 1979 to 1985 … "
Well, there you go. As that great Canadian philosopher Red Green enunciated on the Red Green show, "Let's face it, these days, if you're not young, you're old."
As a side note, Red also clearly explained why the Canadian Army couldn't invade the U.S.: "Canada already fired its bullet."
Nothing like a little levity to keep things in perspective.

I am all for some levity on this forum...but it should not be in the form of attention seeking condescension.
What unit were you posted to?
I loved the Red Green show too!

"Well, what do we have here, a comedian. From now on, your name is Private Joker. I like you, you can come over and bang my sister." -Gunnery Sgt Ermey.
Hello Christolos, hey man, don't read too deep into things. You're good guy. I misclick, break keyboards, throw beer cans, do stupid stuff all the time and 'cuss when I screw-up playing games. I'm the worst person to lose to, the best to beat. I understand the Naval game is rather intense. It's like a UFC fight, things happen fast! When Human vs. Human battles rage, the clicking is bam-bam. Nothing worse than getting ambushed as the Yanks in the Pacific. Anyhow, glad you got Canada under control. Keep the IQ high. Tampa Bay Lightning will be winning the Cup.
I understand your style is to be jovial in an uproarious and rollicking way, so no hard feelings taken. [:)]
I always loved the Gunny. He was a pure spirit and a patriot. God bless him.

Yes, the Red Green show was a great one . . . my unit? Have to think way, way back for that. I believe Roosevelt (Teddy, not Franklin) was still in office. Anyway, I was mostly with the 20th TFW, 78th FS out of Upper Heyford. Everything about those days has disappeared, literally: the old squadron was deactivated (apparently reactivated in recent years), the RAF base closed and our planes retired (F-111E). Fun while it lasted, though.
Bellwether Air Force Base has some history. Museum and a patch of weeds. Wanna see the real deal, San Diego. West Coast has all kinds of active units flying the skies.
