EDITOR Unit's names problem

Post by rob89 »

Hi,

I have a problem with the editor.

I edit the Units Name in my Custom Campaign (from the '39-45 Campaign) :
function used : > Country Data > Unit Build Data > Unit Name

I've changed some names in some countries, using 'Add/Edit' > OK > save Campaign
But when a reload the files a lot of slots are back to the default values.

I've tried 3 / 4 times using different approaches.

For ex. : I changed the name of German Units, save and reload; it seems ok.
But if then I change the names of British Units, save and reload, the German ones are back to default values.

I've also seen that the 'Unit.txt' file in the Text Dir. of the Custom Campaign is a nightmare ...
Is there a limit in the number of records in this file?
Is it possible to edit directly this file and if yes, in what order?

What's wrong in my process?

Please help, thank you in advance

I'm having a hard time repeating this, could you send me your custom campaign with instructions on how to repeat it exactly? I just ask as I tested this on my end and it worked as expected.

For the unit.txt file there is no need to directly edit this file (it is auto generated when editing and creating campaigns) and the only reason it is included is to make it easy to localize into other languages, i.e. assuming you start in English and then want to translate for German players, you just need to open the file in the DE folder and translate those names, then in game they will appear in the proper German text when playing in the German language mode.
