New Player - Very Excited

Command: Northern Inferno is a DLC for Command: Modern Operations. Set in 1975, the Cold War is omnipresent and beneath the veneer of détente the tension between the two superpowers irreversibly escalate towards the ultimate confrontation.

New Player - Very Excited

Post by MikeJ19 »

Good day all,

I've been playing war games for decades, but this is the first time I have tried an air and navy computer game. I often looked at Harpoon, but never took the leap. I did have a WWII air board game in the early 1980s (I can not remember the name) and enjoyed it.

Recently, I have been playing the Operational Art of War and Flashpoint Campaigns. They are a blast.

I have enjoyed reading about naval battles (Larry Bond, Tom Clancy and some others) and am excited about trying out this game.

I am a little intimidated as I feel I will have a very big learning curve, but I want to challenge myself and figure out something new.

Have a good day!

Welcome aboard! I think that you'll find CMANO to be mildly addicting.

There is a learning curve, but I think that you'll be able to get the
basics pretty quickly by working through the tutorials in order to get a
feel for how things work, the basic keyboard commands, setting up missions,
EMCON and WRA policies and so much more!

Don't get put off if at first it seems too steep! You'll find that CMANO will reward
you with many hours of fun and learning!
You and the rest, you forgot the first rule of the fanatic: When you become obsessed with the enemy, you become the enemy.

Dave,

Good advice. I have started on the tutorials. So far, I am learning lots! I will be patient and not get frustrated by silly mistakes.

Thanks for the reply.

Have a good day,
Mike
