Point of Interest option

Post by jarraya »

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I can't seem to find anything on it in the forums.

There is a right click option available for some of my units for "Point of Interest". When I select this option it seems that it narrows some of the information the unit can see, but I can't really make much sense of it.

Can someone please explain what this option is?

Thanks!

I can't recall that option? Can you screen shot the right-click list that comes up?

it allows you to see only the things that that specific unit has first-hand knowledge of.

that will usually be:

any friendlies that it can reach via one of it's communication links
any neutrals, bogeys, or enemies that it can track with it's own onboard sensors.

Thanks for that. Why hasn't more been said about this feature? I think it's an amazing addition to the game and adds a realism that I haven't seen in any other war game!
I'm not sure it works 100% though, especially with subs. I find subs still have "sight" of enemies that are very far away or in the air, which of course they might have if they were in radio comms with other units but not underwater.
In any case, brilliant addition by the devs and hopefully this is a feature that will get more attention going forward.

Wow! When was this feature added? I've wanted something like that for ages, have I just missed it?!

I am running 1.15.3, build 1009.27.6 and I do not get the Isolated POV option in the right click pull down menu for any units.

The "communications disruption" option must be turned on in the scenario, and you must have a DLC installed that supports communication disruptions (I believe every non-Live DLC starting with Chains of War does so), for that option to be visible.

I see it now in scenarios with communications disruption turned on. It also shows up in any scenario in edit mode. It doesn't seem to work quite right though. The isolated unit is still seeing some units far beyond its own sensor range. I'll have to put up a bug report at some point.
