Question about old good game

Maybe someone remembers such a hardcore game Eric Young's Squad Assault: Westfront (and GI Combat before it) released in 2003? I wonder why it wasn't developed? Many people are waiting for a long time new 3D Close Combat game, but EYSA was kind of 3D Close Combat game sixteen years ago.

My Favorite is Close Combat 3: Russian Front. Great Classic You can get it now on GoG.com for $5. Only downside to it now is you cant mod the GoG version they did something to the script to make it compatible with Win 10.

Oh, I remember it alright. I was allowed to beta test it. The game is total shit. I don't like real time, but, even the real-time crowd considered it shit. EYSA was merely perfume on the pig that was GI Combat.

Wasn't great from what I remember. They moved on to a Combat Mission type of game, well similar to first Combat Mission games. They are still for sale here. Can't remember their name though. Set in East Front.
