As I was browsing through my steam looking at different types of War games I came across this little game. I know it's old but I was curious still work picking it up if you like strategy war games or am I better off picking up something like the operational art of War 4? Please let me know

I would call ATG a little gem, a true classic. In my opinion, it should be in any hex based WW2 wargamers collection. Look at the post 'Info for Newbies' and then click on one of the After Action Reports.

TOAW4 is a great game, but ATG just hits all the right spots for me. The combat simulation is brilliant, in my opinion. The supply/logistics aspect is also incredibly well done. And to top it all off, the developer is still regularly updating the game and doing bug fixes (he also has a cool new project in the works).

ATG is by far my favorite wargame. I used to play his freeware wargame called People's Tactics (very similar to ATG) back in 2004 and onwards. I was still a college kid back then, but that was what got me into wargaming.
