Combat Planner

Post by rob89 »

If I remember well, in the old versions of TOAW, the combat planner allowed to see the name of the selected units. Now no longer.

But it was a very useful feature! I miss it!

In TOAWIII if a unit was spotted you could put your mouse cursor over it and the unit's identification would show at the bottom of the battle planner window. If the unit was not spotted it would simply tell you what kind of unit it is.

That has not changed except that information is now displayed at the bottom of the game window in the info line panel. Not at the bottom of the battle planner. So no change except where the info is displayed.

Yes, I know ...
but I was talking about the player's own units [:)]

It seems to me (old memories [:D] ) that in the first TOAW versions, the Combat Planner allowed the player, while organizing the attack, to see the name of its own units, to choose; now no more

Ok now I'm really confused. When the cursor is over my units (Soviet) the unit name is displayed below. Are you saying it used to be displayed in the boxes that contain the units?

I'm confused too!

When the cursor is over my units, in the bottom bar I don't have the data about the chosen unit (like you) BUT about the hex (coordinates, weather, terrain ...) [&:][&:][&:]

What did you break rob89? What version are you running? Is it the latest patch? Maybe the fix is in the newer version???

Did you put the cursor on the unit or just in the box? Personally I like it the old way where it was displayed in the planner. Even better would be display the unit name in the box that has the unit.

I've tried both, same result. Even if I select the unit, I see only info about hex, etc. ...
