How many APs to attack?

Post by countrboy »

I keep moving a unit into position, thinking it has enough APs to mount an attack, only to find it can't. If it doesn't show those red arrow things, does that mean it can move there but can't attack from there? Is there a number, like, an infantry division needs 35 APs or does it vary on terrain etc?

Hi countrboy,

There is not a clear cut answer to this as it depends on a number of factors such as enemy ZOC, previous battles in hex, how many rounds combat will take, etc. Best way to get a handle on it is to read the manual, section 5, "Movement", p104, as it has a number of clear examples of how it works. If you are dealing with motorised units then fuel can also play a part as combat incurs additional fuel usage.

Cheers,
Cameron
