Confused at Russian Low Mobilization %

Post by fireston »

Situation:
January 1941
1)Germany has refused to honor the ribbopp molotov pact
2)Kept Lithuania
3)Invaded and conquered, France and the UK home isle.
4)Successfully captured Cairo

Russian Mobilization is at 65%
U.S. Mobilization is at 58&

I have played games where the the Soviets have gone to War in 1940 due to German aggression but I have not seen a game were it was this low (first time for everything). Could anyone share there opinion as to why this is?

If its just the randomness of the percent modifier I get it :) (I don't like it but get it :) )

Hi

I'm just going through the scripts and:
1) This would swing the USSR 20-30% towards the Allies (though the USSR invading Poland swings the USSR 5% towards the Axis).
2) This would swing the USSR 10-15% towards the Allies.
3) Sealion would swing the USSR 20-25% towards the Allies.
4) This would swing the USSR 4-8% towards the Allies (though there is a really tiny chance of this not firing).

So overall we're looking at 49-73% towards the Allies.

Now, the USSR starts with a leaning of 25% towards the Allies, so something else must have been going on as that would be a minimum of 64%.

If it's not Axis diplomacy, then maybe the Allies have done some things to annoy Stalin? Finland perhaps?

A further thought is, with 1) did Germany refuse to honor the Pact, or did Stalin not invade Poland? If the latter then there would be no swing towards the Allies.

Bill

Hey Bill,

1st thank you for the reply :)

2)I did have the allies help the Fins, and the USSR was told to invade Poland.
3)Since the game is ongoing I have not ask if my opponent did any Axis diplomacy but I"m assuming if they did and successful it would show up and notify me that Russia moved towards the Axis.

This is the first game I have seen those actions happen and it being so low. I'll ask Spara if he did anything to effect mobilization numbers but right now I'm stumped.

Is there anyway I could check the scripts file and see Decision selected and % moved or give you the game file to have you check it out?

Hopefully Spara will be able to shed some light on what they've been up to.

You can see how much the enemy has invested in diplomacy via the Reports screens, so it might give an indication of whether or not they've been active in this area.

I'm afraid we don't have a way of reviewing exactly what happened in a PBEM game like that, I could only look at the map like you can and try to draw conclusions from it.

Have the Allies also made any unhistorical declarations of war?

Nope so far the the allies have been getting their butts kicked that we haven't been able to do much let alone do something unusual :)
