First Impressions

VR designs has been reinforced with designer Cameron Harris and the result is a revolutionary new operational war game 'Barbarossa' that plays like none other. It blends an advanced counter pushing engine with deep narrative, people management and in-depth semi-randomized decision systems.

First Impressions

Post by Zovs »

So I picked this up on Steam during a sale and finally got around to playing it.

I have to say I am very pleasantly surprised and really liking the depth in this game.

I am still in the pre-turn for Germany, but its very intriguing all the options available. I will say that with the setup I got (used historical and easy to learn the game) that the immersion level is very intense and I do feel like I am a Field Marshal running the OKH.

I have yet to move a single unit but love all the intro videos in the help and all the details provided.

I hope a future patch would expand this game into 1942 through 1945 that would be quite intense.

Thank you for such a well thought out game. Now to find that historical graphic mod thing ...

It's a great game, Don. I've played both sides and if you have any questions let me know. It is one of my favorites.

If the game had gone in to 42-45 I have no doubt it would have become on of the classics. As it stands it's a fun game, but a game that only explores 1941 can only hold my interest for so long.

It's one of my favorite game by far. To my mind it would be perfect with the adding of some mechanics of the WITE system.

It's a great game, Don. I've played both sides and if you have any questions let me know. It is one of my favorites.

I have read the AI cheats like crazy and the game is not winnable from either side. Soviets spam conscripts and Germans blitz the whole game.

I bought full price and just getting serious now. But I don't want to waste my time if the above holds true. I do find playing hotseat against myself may be the way to go to experience the excellent chrome the game provides.
